Principal's Message
Tēnā koutou Parents / Caregivers / Sunnynook Whānau,
There have been some exciting (and rather physical) activities happening around school for our tamariki over the last two weeks which have been encouraging participation and sportsmanship among our students.
There have been some exciting (and rather physical) activities happening around school for our tamariki over the last two weeks which have been encouraging participation and sportsmanship among our students.
Year 2 Kite Day was a fun and colourful day, which both students and caregivers enjoyed. We have had North Harbour Rugby facilitators at school this week to teach rugby skills and it was good to see everyone participating.
Athletics Day for both seniors and juniors have been held with much excitement from our children and the caregivers who were able to attend. It was heartwarming to see the enthusiasm of all involved and to see the cheering and encouragement the children gave each other.
The Wairau Art Extravaganza was a fantastic showcase of the artistic talent of our tamariki and I was very impressed with the opening night performances of all the students involved.
To celebrate the end of Diwali, some of our students and staff members dressed in beautiful traditional costumes for the day - see the photos later in the newsletter.
As the end of the year is fast approaching, please see the important dates in our newsletter so you are aware of what is happening in school. Please also look at some of the community activities that are also posted at the end of the newsletter for ideas for the school holidays.
Ngā mihi
Virginia
